Overview
Page Optimization includes adjusting both the visible and invisible text of the target website for favorable evaluation by directories and search engines.

Directories, such as Yahoo, MSN (Looksmart), and ODP have strict conformance codes and rely heavily on the human element to assess website acceptance.

Unlike directories, search-based search engines employ "robots" that scan (spider) and analyze a site for a theme. Through experience, Position Research understands the optimal page structure and placement of keyword phrases to achieve top ranking.

Implementation Strategy
Spider-based search engines examine websites to determine their theme. By enriching a website's content with strategically chosen and placed keywords, search engine rankings may be influenced. As the popularity or number of keyword phrases increases, the amount of page optimization must also increase.

A website page having greater than 300 words (more than 600 does not help much) in paragraph format is ideal for page optimization. In some cases, websites lack the required content necessary to compete for top ranking. In these cases additional site pages with quality content must be adde
Id.

Websites with frames, or dynamic page construction that pass variables in their URLs are not search engine friendly. Many search engines cannot evaluate these types of pages (google.com can read through frames and one level of dynamic page construction). If a search engine can not find HTML/text content to evaluate or internal links to navigate, construction modification or a cloaking strategy must be employed.

Websites with graphic intensive pages that do not have HTML content or navigation to other pages within the site (common on FLASH home pages) must be modified to correct these conditions so that conventional page optimization can be used or cloaking must be employed.

In some cases, website managers will not permit visible text modifications to their site. If the visible content of a site cannot be enhanced with keywords, the optimization effort may be compromised resulting in poor ranking. Construction of additional editable pages or a cloaking strategy should be considered.

Creating customized cloaked pages takes advantage of the unique ranking algorithms that each search engine uses and is well suited for highly competitive keywords. This optimization strategy is the most aggressive and produces the best page optimization.

This same technique can be applied to large websites with multiple themes. Several URLs can be created to attain highly focused theme-based websites. Each search engine receives their highly optimized cloaked pages while the visitor views the visible website pages.
